PALMVIEW - The City of Palmview has purchased their first police sky watch tower and they are putting it to use at a H.E.B. parking lot.
The new police tool will help law enforcement monitor crime in high traffic areas and crack down on car theft and vandalism. City Manager John Alaniz states, "It's a recording device and it will record 360 degrees so anything that is pretty much going on we can catch it on camera."
The sky watch tower cost the city just under $120,000 dollars and they say if it helps bring down crime rates, they plan to invest on a second one in the next two years.
