MCALLEN — The City of McAllen opened a second Splash Pad on Tuesday to the public at Palm View Park located in south McAllen. The park has an assortment of water sprinklers and kids can bring their bathing suits to cool off by playing water games. McAllen city commissioner Ida Ramirez was at the opening ceremony and stated, "Absolutely, just like you said, it's not just a park. Now we have added the water component and with the hot days, that we have here in the Valley, this is the best thing that we can do for our kids and more than anything it is free. It is free to the public, it is free to all citizens, so I encourage everyone to come out here, come for a walk, come to the park and then come and cool off in our water feature here."
