SOUTH PADRE ISLAND — Boca Chica beach and beach accesses five and six on South Padre Island are now open to beach goers. The beaches were closed due to the high tides and dangerous rip currents from Debby and county officials decided to reopen the beaches on Wednesday. For Mission resident and beach goer Mariana Garcia the decision came in just in time, "You can come with your family, enter your car and spend time here, it's cool."
