MERCEDES — A couple is charged with possession of drugs after police received a tip about drug activity in the area. Aidee Neyra and Elisaro Quintero have been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after the Street Level Task Force, comprised of Mission P.D. and Hidalgo county deputies, received a tip on the home located on Mile 9 road. The task force did a search of the home found more than 200 pounds of marijuana and more than 20 pounds of cocaine. Cpl. Manny Casas from the Mission P.D. stated, "I don't think they were selling out of there. I think it was more like a stash house based on what we found, because it was spread all over the house. Some was in the garage, some in the closet and then some in the hidden compartment."
