BROWNSVILLE — The Gladys Porter Zoo and the Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts are teaming up to celebrate the zoo's 40th birthday with a special exhibit named Wildlife Inspiration. The exhibit will display works of famed photographer Cristina Kahlo and acclaimed sculptures by Sebastian as well as regional artist. Executive Director Pat Burchfield say the zoo has accomplished a lot in it's forty years, "The only zoo to have ever bred a rare antelope, we are the zoo to breed the second and third African elephant ever to be born in captivity and along with that it's a wonderful facility you can come and see the animals and replicas of their natural environment." The exhibit, at the museum, will remain on display until September 8th.
