Two Brownsville teens are learning crime does not pay even when its a crime against criminals.
Sheriff's investigators staked out a house after getting information that there was a stash house with drugs. During the survellience of the home they spotted two male teens entering the home and then driving off. When the officers pulled over the teens for a traffic violation they spotted a bundle of marijuana in the back seat. The teens admitted to stealing the drugs from the home and the police took the teens in for questioning.
Investigators went back to the home and seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana valued at about $175,000 dollars. Juan Garza and Derek Cruz are charged with possession of marijuana and could face prison time and a $10,000 dollar fine. Police are still trying to determine who owns the drugs they found in the home.
