Alton Fire Chief Placed on Paid Suspension

ALTON — Alton Fire Chief Elias Saldivar has been placed on paid suspension since last Wednesday while the city administration is conducting an inquiry. City Manager Jorge Arcaute has not mentioned why Saldivar is accused of but the investigation is expected to be completed by the end of the week. Until then, a Captain is in charge of the Alton Fire Department.
