BROWNSVILLE — As the 46th annual World Communications Day nears Pope Benedict XVI released this year's message and in honor of the upcoming day the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville held a brunch. It's a big part of the church's mission to be up to speed with the different forms of communication. Pope John Paul emphasized the message and Pope Benedict XVI is following in his footsteps. Bishop Daniel Flores stated on the event saying, "So they issue of message every year expressing kind of why they think it's important that we appreciate all the different means of communication which would include printed media, television, radio, internet all those different things that are available to communicate." The Catholic Diocese has met in honor of this occasion for many years.
