EDINBURG — Many companies give back to their community, but this is something else as Spectra Energy employees are building a sunken patio, complete with a fire pit, at the Edinburg Wetlands and Birding Center. They say they've never built anything like this before, but with the right tools in hand the project is almost done. Wetlands Manager Marisa Oliva says the center still needs more help, "Really all of the world birding centers are dependent on government funds. We are a city site and we don't always have as much money as we need. So when the community comes out and says "Hey we have some money we would like to help you build something", it is fantastic and it really makes a big difference.' Spectra Energy has helped the birding center with several projects over the last year and says they enjoy giving back to the community.
