Brownsville .police say they are linked to more than 20 crimes through out the city.
A group of five has been arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation and several other charges. In the past two months more than 20 families living in the Southmost area have been the victims of burglaries. Police say five suspects are ones responsible. A 13,17,19,22 and 25 year old. The most recent victim was yesterday at 3003 Alameda.
This is the home of Robert Torres, his wife, daughter, and grandsons. He says they entered the house in the back and took a plasma TV, clothes, and several electronic items. Police say they spotted the suspects in the street with backpacks and TVs. A foot pursuit led police to a residence off Southmost Blvd where the suspects were found and arrested hiding in a shed. Gonzalez is Torres neighbor. She was also burglarized with thieves stealing her lawn mower. Gonzalez and other neighbors say they would like more security in the area, and for neighbors to keep their eyes open.
The suspects remain in the Brownsville jail. Police say an additional suspect may have been involved and they could face similar charges.
