CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children aims to prevent innocent children from falling through the cracks of the court system. This training is meant to inform volunteers about their duties as an advocate for an abused and neglected child. We will teach you how to effectively complete these duties and advocate for a child who has been taken from his or her home due to abuse or neglect and now resides in foster care. Trainings take places April 23, 24, 25, 30, May 1, 2 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm and finishes May 5 from 9 am – 3 pm. Trainings will take place in Harlingen at Golden Palms Retirement Center and in Brownsville at the CASA office at 647 E. St. Charles.
