Edcouch church fire under investigation.

Fire officials in Edcouch Elsa continue to investigate what caused a fire to start inside a church over the weekend.

Fire Marshall's say St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church was in flames on Sunday morning gutting most of the inside. Officials believe the fire may have been caused by an electrical failure because the church was undergoing reconstruction and was empty. The fire departments from Mercedes, La Villa, Weslaco and Alamo fought the blaze for about two hours.
