Florida teen faces multiple charges after being busted for driving under the influence three times in 17 days.
A Florida teenager arrested on DUI and drug charges three times within 17 days was ordered held without bail Monday shortly after another judge released her on bail.
Circuit Judge Denise Pomponio revoked bail for Kimberly McCarthy, 18, on felony drug charges during a hearing Monday morning, according to the Hillsborough County Jail website.
That order came after Judge John Conrad did not agree to a prosecutor's request to revoke bail during a separate hearing on the DUI charges Monday morning.
McCarthy, of Tampa, was taken into custody at 1:30 p.m. at the Hillsborough County Courthouse and booked at 6:13 p.m., according to the jail website.
McCarthy was arrested February 24 on charges of driving under the influence and possession of Xanax, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
She was also driving with a learner's permit without an adult in the car, according to records.
She was arrested again March 11 and charged with DUI and possession of marijuana.
Both times she went free on bail.
She was arrested again March 12 and charged with DUI, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
That arrest came after she was involved in a crash, according to Tampa police.
After both March arrests, she registered a blood-alcohol percentage of 0.00, records stated.
However, a urine test was ordered and results are pending, records stated.
Pomponio revoked bail based on charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the jail website said.
After appearing Monday morning before Conrad, McCarthy said she was high on marijuana each time she was stopped but wasn't drunk.
McCarthy has hearings scheduled with both judges April 2 to determine her status.
She will appear before Pomponio at 8:30 a.m. and Conrad at 1:30 p.m.
