College student struck by train after tumbling onto tracks.
New York police have released new photos and video of the suspect wanted in connection with a verbal and physical altercation on a subway platform that left a college student from Queens dead.
Joshua Basin, 20, was killed by an L train after he fell into the tracks at a Brooklyn station during an argument with the unidentified man late Friday.
The argument began as a verbal dispute while the two men were riding the Manhattan-bound L train, police say.
Both men exited the train at the Bedford Avenue station, where police and witnesses say the fight turned physical.
They fell into the train tracks.
The suspect was able to get back to the platform, but Basin could not get off the tracks.
He was struck by an oncoming L train.
He was transported to Bellevue Hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Basin was a student at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City studying psychology.
His mother, Zena, told NBC News that she hopes whoever was involved in the altercation will come forward.
"Whoever did this is a coward," she said.
"My son was very friendly," she added. "He would never hurt anybody, if you ask any of his friends, they knew that he would go out of his way to help them."
