BROWNSVILLE - Nearly 500 employees of the Brownsville T-Mobile call center were given bad news this week.
T-Mobile says, most of the Brownsville employees will have the option to transfer to another call center the nearest of which, is in Mission.
The Brownsville center is one of the seven across the country, slated for closure.
Employees that don't transfer will be offered a severance package when the call center closes in June.
T-Mobile officials said in a statement, "The decision to close the Brownsville branch was a result of smaller customer base and lower call volumes."
