In Harlingen, a routine traffic stop helps police recover thousands of dollars in stolen property.
Officers stopped a black Chevy two door car on Staurt Place and Queen Sago road around 5pm on Wednesday. The driver, 41 year-old Salvador Steve Vela, had $2,000 dollars in stolen property and identity information inside his car. Vela is charged with 4 counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and one count of possession of identity information. His bond is set at $9,000 dollars for all five charges against him.
