For the second day in a row, U.S. Border Patrol agents teamed up with Customs and Border Protection's ICE unit to pick up more than two dozen undocumented immigrants from a home in Edinburg.
Agents found 30 illegal immigrants stashed on Tuesday morning inside a home. The immigrants are from different parts of Central America, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. U.S. Border Patrol spokesperson John Lopez says, they received a call from a concerned citizen about suspicious activity at the home.
When the agents responded to the call and entered the home they found 30 people inside. All 30 illegal immigrants are in custody and they face charges for entering the U.S. without inspection. Since October 2008, Border Patrol has picked up more than 42,000 illegal immigrants in the Rio Grande Valley sector.
