HIDALGO COUNTY — Time is almost up for cattle owners to renew their cattle brands as the end of the registration period occurs on February 29th.
The registration process protects the cattle owners branding image for the next ten years and it keep any concerns away about anyone across the state from using the same brand to mark their cattle. Hidalgo County Clerk Arturo Guajardo Jr. stated, "They just have to bring in their mark, we will provide them with their application here, at the office. They just draw their mark on the application, fill out their name, what have you and their address and filing fee and then it becomes record."
All brands will be digitally scanned into a statewide database and the fee is only $16 dollars to renew.
