PHARR - A horse is a horse of course, but not without a name and the Border Patrol's Valley sector announced the winner of it's horse naming contest on Tuesday at J.C. Kelly elementary school in Pharr.,
The five new horses, brought up through the Wild Horse and Burro Adoption Program, play a vital role in the Border Patrol's work. The agency announced the lucky winner at Tuesday ceremony as 4th grader Nyzha Alvarez who attends J.C. Kelly elementary. Border Patrol agent Daniel Millian stated, "We hosted one of the five ceremonies for those five new horses and so today we recongnized the winner that was selected for having chosen the name and that name was Bullet and fourth grader by the name of Nyzha Alvarez was the one that was chosen." We asked Nyzha how she came up with the name and she said, "So like horses are like fast right, so I decided on the name Bullet, the name came into my mind so I just put it, Bullet and i put it."
