Woman claims her "new" phone contained previous owner's risque content.
Cell phone company Cricket is investigating how nude pictures ended up on an Albuquerque, New Mexico woman's phone.
Paula Jaramillo said she had been trying to get her Cricket phone working correctly for some time.
She took it to a store and was told a new SIM card was the fix.
When she took it home she discovered that card wasn't new at all, and it had photos from the previous owner.
"They were very graphic pictures of a girl that was showing inappropriate parts of her body and there's a video on there also," said Jaramillo.
The photos are so hardcore that we can't show you a single pixel.
"Her body is being exposed to the public - I feel really bad for her - I really do," said Jaramillo.
It wasn't just porn, there are also regular pics of the woman with family, possibly her children or siblings - even parents.
Jaramillo took the phone back demanding answers.
"I'm concerned about Cricket. They need to check their SD cards before they give them out," said Jaramillo.
Cricket's corporate office said their refurbished cards are from a third party supplier.
They think this particular card was part of a bulk shipment.
Now they're investigating how it got in the mix.
Cricket gave Jaramillo a new phone and took her old one.
Now she's wondering if her personal information will end up on another person’s phone.
Some good advice would be to make sure all personal information is erased from your phone before it’s replaced.
Cricket said this is the first time this has ever happened.
