A San Benito teen may finally be sentenced for a crime a jury convicted him of in April.
A jury found Jesus Herrera guilty of manslaughter in April, but could not agree on a punishment for that crime. The jury did determine Herrera stabbed and killed Alejandro Cervantez in October of 2007. During the trial Herrera said he did not intentionally kill Cervantez. A new jury began listening to testimony on Tuesday morning for the sentencing phase of the trial. Herrera could face punishment from probation up to 20 years in prison for the crime.
