BROWNSVILLE - Nearly 700 students were back in class on Monday at Cumming middle school following last week's shooting of a student.
Some two hundred students did not attend classes last Friday when classes had resumed back at the school. Last week on Wednesday, police were called to the school after a 911 call came in reporting that 15 year-old Jaime Gonzalez was seen with a gun on campus grounds. Police engaged Gonzalez and requested him to drop the weapon and when Gonzalez pointed the weapon towards police he was shot and killed. After investigating the situation police reported that the gun Gonzalez had on him was a pellet gun.
