RIO GRANDE VALLEY - Charities across the Valley are seeing a decline in donations and adding that people aren't donating as much as they once were.
Places like the Salvation Army say many people are just giving in smaller amounts. If they would normally write a check for a hundred dollars are now only donating a quarter of that amount. Some people are even holding onto clothes and furniture longer instead of spending for new items. Local churches say they also have seen a decrease in donations and believe it's due to the economical circumstances.
