Gas prices in the Valley continued to go up all week long.
Our same station survey shows a .15 cent jump this week compared to last weeks. A gallon now sells for an average price of $2.15 although some stations are posting a price of $2.29. Some are now selling gas at a higher price than diesel and that has not been the case for a while. The price increase is not only in the Valley, statewide prices are up to a $2.17 average and nationwide it's at $2.26 per gallon.
AAA Texas blames higher retail prices on the rising cost of crude, plus the switch over by companies to the summer blend of gasoline. Also, many gas stations are raising prices in anticipation of Memorial Day weekend travel. It could be worse, last year prices across Texas were close to $3.65 a gallon.
