CAMERON COUNTY - A Cameron county sheriff deputy is recovering after being stabbed while making an arrest on Saturday morning.
The deputy respond to a call in Lozano where two brothers were fighting each other. As the deputy attempted to make an arrest, Federico Garza pulled a dagger out and stabbed the deputy in the upper thigh. The deputy was taken to the hospital and received several stitches to the wound and will be out of work for ten days. Garza has been charged with aggravated assault on a public servant.
