Dozens of Valley residents were out in full force on Friday in front of Congressman Solomon Ortiz office in Brownsville protesting the Obama health care plan.
The group says they don't want a national health care plan and protested with signs and chants on Ruben Torres street. In response to the protest, Congressman Ortiz sent a statement that read, "This plan will offer affordable quality health care for Americans while reducing the burden of ballooning health care costs on American families."
Also in McAllen, protesters gathered outside Congressman Henry Cuellar's McAllen office as well to protest the health care plan. They too carried signs and stood in the extreme heat for about an hour to speak against the plan.
This group protested for an hour, but could not stay longer because of the high temperatures.
