While some sat in the dark thanks to the storm an Alton church got ripped apart and church goers were picking up the pieces.
A scene surrounding the busy road tells a story of damaging storm that left trees broken in two others completely uprooted and ripped off its roof right from the seams. Margarita Hernandez worships at Igesia Monte De Los Olivos and the storm canceled her prayer plans on Thursday.
Church members say they were renting the building and are in the process of buying another building to worship, but they're not sure when that will go through. If you would like to help them, you can make a donation at any First National Bank under the Monte De Los Olivos account.
