It’s an all around joy for the Perez family and for Lesley’s mother, San Juana Perez. She says having her daughter back in her arms is a miracle. The family is so grateful to everyone who helped in the search. She thanks the police, media and tipster who alerted authorities to Lesley’s whereabouts.
“Yo le pedi a Dios que le pusiera un corazon bueno a el para que no le hiciera nada malo a mi niña.”
During the agonizing hours without her baby girl, Perez prayed and hoped the man who kidnapped Lesley would keep his hands away and not hurt her. Although the toddler has some scratches on her hands, arms and legs, her mom says Lesley’s okay. She’s smiling, and playing as if nothing happened.
Mom has nothing to say to the suspect. But she does have a message to parents. She says 24/7 supervision is a must when children are outside, because just like in her case, it only takes one minute for anyone to kidnap a child.
