McALLEN - Kidney transplant recipients and donors came together on Thursday for the South Texas Transplant Center Annual Luncheon.
It's an event to honor and thank doctors, nurses, staff and especially transplant donors. Some speakers that have received transplants and those still on the waiting list shared their stories of success and patience. Many donors say receiving a transplant is a second chance at life. The South Texas Transplant Center did twenty transplants this year bringing it's total to eighty five since opening in 2007.
