BROWNSVILLE - The City of Brownsville will begin it's search for an interim police chief after the current Police Chief Carlos Garcia announced he'll be retiring.
City Manager Charlie Cabler says they'll be interviewing candidates this week to fill Garcia's spot on an interim basis as Garcia will finish out the year. Cabler says they'll be interviewing some people in law enforcement including some commanders currently within the department.
The Cabler says they hope to select an interim chief sometime this week to find a permanent replacement.
