MCALLEN- A mother in McAllen says Thanksgiving is the last thing in her mind. Her husband has been missing since Friday. She is terrified something bad may have happened.
"I'm worried about him," said the woman. "I'm thinking that they kidnapped him."
She says her husband was supposed to cross into the U.S. on Saturday from Reynosa. They paid $3,000 to smuggle him across the border. Since friday she has lost all communication with the coyotes and her husband and now her family is left all alone.
"I have 4 kids and i don't have no family member here," said the woman.
She says she's notified authorities in Reynosa but so far there haven't been any leads. Because things are so bad in Mexico, she cant help but think the worst. Until she hears her husband is alive and well she'll continue to hold on to his picture just in case its the only way she'll ever see him again.
Newscenter 23 spoke to several agencies in the upper valley, they say there's not much they can do since the man is still in Mexico. The woman says she plans to go into Reynosa tomorrow in search of her husband.
