McALLEN - Six suspects were arrested on Thursday after claiming to have been hired by Mexican drug cartels and police believe they are linked to a San Juan kidnapping that occurred on Wednesday.
Both kidnapping victims were freed around 5 AM on Thursday without any injuries after investigators found them at a home near the 2000 block of West Ebony street in McAllen. According to reports, four men and two women admitted to investigators that they were working for Mexican cartels in an effort to extort money from the victims and their relatives.
Police say the kidnappers allegedly took $4,000 dollars from the victims and all six suspects face several first degree felony charges including aggravated kidnapping.
