BROWNSVILLE - Do you know what your rights are if you are pulled over on suspicion of driving while intoxicated?
If you are ever pulled over for suspicion of DWI and have less than two DWI's, here is what you should know. When pulled over, you can refuse a sobriety and breathalyzer test but police say they can suspend your license for six months. If you choose to take the breathalyzer test and fail you can lose your license for three months. Now if you have three or more DWI's you can refuse a field sobriety and breathalyzer test, but the officer has the right to do an automatic blood draw at the hospital.
