BROWNSVILLE - The suspect, who sexually assaulted a UTB student at a campus parking lot, is expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
Police say, that this past Tuesday, a female student was sexually assaulted by a man she met through the internet a few weeks ago. According to a press release, the alleged assault took place inside the victim's vehicle at a campus parking lot and the incident has many questioning campus security.
UTB freshman Jessica Alaniz said, "I walk to the REC at six in the morning and I don't see any cops patrolling the area at all. I'm walking a long distance and what if someone comes up from behind the bushes and attacks me? Who's going to help me, I mean, there's the stands with the buttons, but who's going to come in like five seconds? UTB Professor James Telese stated, " I feel that the security is at a high level at UTB. I believe that this incident is just one of those things."
