BROWNSVILLE - There's good news for low income families as they now have another option for affordable housing.
On Wednesday morning, Capital One teamed up with Nations Construction Management to host the grand opening of Bowie Gardens, a multi-family apartment community. The 86 unit complex, which features one to three bedroom apartments, provides cost effective housing for residents. The $12.8 million dollar complex also has a pool, club house, pinic area and an outdoor play area. Capital One President, Jordana Barton says, it's a great place for children, "It was very important that it was near an elementary school, Champion Elementary. So the creation of Bowie Gardens is really about investing in the community. It's about how do we make life better for people and for children, it's so critical that they have a secure, safe place to live, to call home and to play and you know this is going to be a part of their memories forever."
