McALLEN - The 23rd Annual Texas Crime Stoppers Conference will be held in McAllen next week and the public is welcomed to attend and see first hand what tools different agencies use in fighting crime.
The conference starts next week at the McAllen Convention Center and Tuesday will be dubbed "Law Enforcement Day". McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez says many times Crime Stoppers is the last hope in solving tough crimes, "We couldn't survive today without a program like Crime Stoppers, it has given identity to the means by which a citizen can call law enforcement in America and have some confidence in being promised anonymity and go to sleep at night without having to worry about that."
The event will be hosted by the Texas DPS, U.S. Border Patrol, McAllen Police Department, Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department and many other local police stations. The displays will be open to the public from 9 AM until 4 PM.
