At the Port of Brownsville, firefighters responded to a ship that burst into flames on Wednesday afternoon.
Smoke could be seen in the sky for miles and port workers called fire units to the area around 8:30 in the morning. Fire Chief Lenny Perez says the blaze started when oil on the ship caught fire. A salvage company had been working on demolishing the ship and it took fire crews about three hours to get the fire under control.
