Passion for food began at a bakery in Mission, Texas. Baked for three years. Enlisted in the US Army in food service in 1990 to 1998. Participated in the US Army Culinary Arts and received awards in food competitions. In 1997 received an American Culinary Federation Medal. In 1998, upon exiting the military employed at High Smith Rainey Memorial Hospital in food service. Experienced in fine dining in different cuisines and in catering. In 2003 moved back to Texas and was employed by the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center in food service. In 2008 received degree in Culinary Arts at South Texas College and was offered an adjunct position. Employed full time by South Texas College in 2009 and in June 2011 became chair person of the Culinary Arts Program. Member of the Texas Chefs Association.
