BROWNSVILLE - U.S. Custom officers seized more than 51 pounds of marijuana this past Sunday as two suspects attempted to smuggle the drug at a port of entry.
Custom agents stopped the suspects, who were occupying a 2002 Toyota 4-Runner, at the Brownsville/Matamoros port of entry and sent them to a secondary inspection. Agents there searched the vehicle and found more than 50 pounds of marijuana stashed in the gas tank. Officers then arrested 21 year-old Rolando Torres and 36 year-old Exquio Gutierrez and both were charged with possession of marijuana.
