Parents listen up, according to a new study over 10% of young teenagers are having sex in Texas.
Researchers from the University of Texas surveyed over 1,200 teens on their sexual activity. By age 12, over 12% of students had engaged in sex and one third did not use condoms and a quarter had four or more partners. Experts say it is important schools and parents talk about sex at the middle school level and provide resources for sexually active teens.
Hispanic students who had initiated intercourse at a young age were more likely to be sexually active and to engaged in unprotected sex.
