HARLINGEN— The city of Harlingen has sent a message to TX-DOT, asking to be put on the map.
Well, maybe not so much the map, but a little more recognition along the roadways.
As of now, the city attorney and city commissioners feel their city doesn't have enough signs for travelers passing through to identify where exactly Harlingen is.
The city attorney says multiple signs of McAllen and Brownsville lead into Harlingen from all directions, but very few actually point out Harlingen.
A letter has been sent to TX-DOT in Pharr, as well as in Austin, to see about getting more signs in and around the city.
They're still waiting to hear back from TX-DOT leaders about their request.
