Rio Grande Valley Stripes convenience stores are helping provide scholarships to South Texas students through their Stars and Stripes campaign.
The money goes to the South Texas Academic Rising Stars program which gives scholarships to students going to college. The campaign is going on now through October 2nd and their goal is to raise more than $200,00 dollars for these students. STARS Executive Director Tony Forina says, "As a matter of fact, in the last five years, STARS has combined over a half a million dollars to the program. All of that money stays in South Texas to help the children of South Texas."
