Valley veterans say they have new hope the Obama administration may bring a hospital to South Texas.
Veterans got a national spotlight on the issue in March when they walked to San Antonio to demonstrate the need for a local VA hospital. Just last week ground was broken for a VA clinic and spoke to Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki.
The VA estimates 117,000 Valley veterans need the facilities, but organizers say that number is much larger with unregistered veterans, winter Texans and veterans who live in Mexico.
