A Hidalgo county woman is severely injured after taking a Continental Airlines flight that flew into McAllen from Houston over the weekend.
The 47 year-old mother of three children is suffering from severe back injuries and paralysis. One other passenger and a crew member were taken to McAllen Medical Center with minor injuries. A Continental Airlines representative says 104 passengers and five crew members were on board the flight when it experienced a high level of turbulence.
Apparently the woman was either in the bathroom or coming out of the it when the turbulence occurred. Roman Garcia, the woman's attorney, says since the flight the woman has undergone two surgeries. No lawsuit against the airline has been filed as of yet and Continental Airline officials say it's their priority to assist the victims and their families with their needs.
