Two men, from Edinburg, will be spending the night in jail after they were caught in Webb county trying to smuggle marijuana in a utility truck.
The bust happened on Thursday morning outside of Mirando City after the driver was stopped for a traffic violation. Deputies report that they could smell the marijuana coming from within the bed of the truck and decided to search the vehicle. Deputies found 46 bundles of marijuana weighing more than 800 pounds. The Sheriff for Webb county says they've been noticing many utility trucks being used to smuggle drugs and attempting to pass themselves as oil field workers.
