Certain services in the City of McAllen will be getting a price increase that will help the city save over $700,000 dollars.
The city will increase fees in areas ranging from recycling, brush collection, pools, parks and recreation and library charges. This is the first time in 20 years that the city has changed its prices and officials say the fees will keep certain services available to residents. McAllen City Manager Mike Perez states, "We analyze, do we cut back on that or do we raise the fees just a little bit? We believe the citizens of McAllen want that high quality service, they don't want to have a reduction in services."
