It was day three of testimony in the case of a man who killed his family members and almost killed his wife.
Prosecutors are calling for the death penalty for 45 year-old Roberto Aguirre Rojas who pleaded guilty on Monday. The court room became a crime lab as prosecutors continued to present more evidence to the jury that Roberto Rojas slaughtered his family back on December 6, 2008. Dr. John Orfanos was the first witnesses to testify and he explained to the jury the life threatening wounds Amelia received from the shooting.
Richard Hitchcox, who is a ballistics expert from the DPS regional crime lab, explained to the jury that his office received multiple cartridges that were found at the home on the night of the shooting. Prosecutors say Rojas used three types of weapons, two semi-automatic pistols and one rifle.
