An alleged aggravated robbery occurred at 801 Alamo Street in San Benito early this morning.
“The back door was kicked in and they came in and caught the victims by surprise,” says Sgt. Rene Garcia.
Inside the house were two females along with two small children. According to police reports, the women were tied up while the suspects stole a flat screen television, money and a 2008 Ford Escape.
“The victims only saw two of the suspects but they could hear more voices in the background,” says Garcia.
One of the suspects is described as six feet tall wearing a black bandana and holding a black semi-automatic handgun. The other was described as a short heavy set male wearing a white mask and holding a shotgun. The stolen car was found abandoned this morning outside of Combes.
Eleven year-old Tamera Rodriguez, the daughter of one of the victims, says this ordeal has been trying for her mother.
“She was traumatized,” says Rodriguez. “When the cops said that I could go inside there was a mess and I just started crying because I felt real sad.”
No injuries were reported but the suspects are still at large as police continue their investigation.
