ELSA- A man has been shot and killed in north Elsa. This is the 11th homicide Sheriff's deputies are investigating.
In a quiet ranch off of Monte Cristo Road and east of FM 88, a violent scene unfolded. There wasn't much to see Tuesday morning but a Sheriff's patrol unit at the entrance, is the only indication of what occurred. Sheriff deputies say a man shot another in the torso with a 22 caliber rifle Monday night.
Sheriff deputies arrived to find the shooter was still on scene, he was detained and his weapon seized. According to officials say he confessed to the murder.
Sheriff Lupe Trevino released a statement saying "the suspect and victim had an acquaintance relationship. we can not release any more information until we are able to match details of the suspect's confession with evidence gathered at the crime scene."
The victim's name has not been released and the suspect is expected to be charged Wednesday morning.
