This is the scene near Treasure Hills in Harlingen. AEP workers say that around 1 pm Thursday a dump truck dumping dirt hit one of the poles causing three others the fall over, that caused the power to get knocked for around 100 customers in that area. AEP workers have to replace all four poles.
Zion Champion is one of those residents that has been without air condition for most of the day.
"It's really boring and hot."
Champion says they are really concerned about there food spoiling and keeping their exotic fish alive because the fish rely on a filter that keeps the water clean and without power that filter does not work.
"Those fish cost a lot and I care out them."
For now Champion and his friends are trying to stay outside and try to catch some of the breeze to cool off.
As for the utility poles AEP has been working throughout the day to power up and running.
A spokesperson says all the homes power should be up and running sometime Thursday night.
